Our About Us

About Us - Jan Evom Krishi Vikas Sansthan (JKVS)

Who We Are

Jan Evom Krishi Vikas Sansthan (JKVS) is a registered non-governmental organization established in 2011-12, headquartered in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. We are a dedicated team of professionals, agriculturists, and social workers committed to the holistic development of rural and semi-urban communities. Working at the grassroots level, JKVS serves as a vital bridge between government policies and the beneficiaries they are designed for, ensuring that the benefits of various developmental schemes reach the last person in the queue.

Our Vision & Mission

Our vision is to build a self-reliant, empowered, and sustainable society where every individual has access to opportunities for growth, skill development, and dignified living. Our mission is to empower rural communities through agriculture extension, skill training, women empowerment, handicraft development, and digital literacy. We strive to transform lives by providing quality training, awareness, and institutional support that enables individuals and communities to break the cycle of poverty and achieve economic independence.

Our Journey

Over the past decade, JKVS has grown from a small initiative into a trusted implementing agency for multiple ministries and departments of the Government of India. From our first project under the Harit Kranti Yojana in 2014 to our current engagements with organizations like IIIT-Allahabad, IRRI, ICAR-CISH, and the Ministry of Textile, our journey has been one of consistent learning and expanding impact. Today, we proudly operate across multiple districts including Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, and beyond, touching thousands of lives every year.

Our Core Focus Areas

Our work revolves around six core pillars of community development. First, Agriculture Extension, where we implement Farmer Field Schools, Kisan Gosthis, and exposure visits under ATMA and Harit Kranti Yojana to modernize farming practices. Second, Skill Development, through which we provide vocational training in tailoring, beauty culture, DTH installation, and housekeeping via recognized Sector Skill Councils. Third, Handicraft Development, where we support artisans through toolkit distribution, design workshops, and marketing events like Craft Bazars. Fourth, Women Empowerment, including the Nai Roshani programme, SHG formation, and entrepreneurship development. Fifth, Digital Literacy, offering CCC computer training and courses under the National Digital Literacy Mission. And sixth, Water & Sanitation, where we serve as a Sector Partner with the Jal Jeevan Mission to promote clean drinking water and hygiene awareness.

Our Approach

What sets JKVS apart is our participatory and community-centric approach. We don't just implement programmes; we engage with communities at every stage — from baseline surveys and mobilization to training, monitoring, and post-project support. We believe in capacity building rather than dependency creation. Our team of qualified professionals, including agricultural scientists, IT experts, social workers, and skilled instructors, works hand-in-hand with local stakeholders, government officials, and partner institutions to deliver measurable and sustainable outcomes.

Our Network & Partnerships

JKVS is proud to be empanelled with prestigious institutions and ministries including NCVT, NIELIT, AMHSSC, DWSSC, TSSC, the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), and the Jal Jeevan Mission. We have established strong linkages with organizations such as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), ICAR-CISH Lucknow, IIIT-Allahabad, MANAGE Hyderabad, SHUATS, and various state departments of Agriculture and Horticulture. These partnerships strengthen our credibility and expand our ability to deliver high-quality programmes to the communities we serve.

Our Infrastructure & Institutions

To support our mission, JKVS has built robust infrastructure including four training halls, four classrooms, a well-equipped computer lab with 30 systems, and dedicated office spaces. Beyond training, we have also established three lasting institutions — Sampati Private ITI (affiliated with NCVT), JKVS-IT Institute (affiliated with NIELIT), and Chayal Handicraft Producer Company — which continue to serve as centers of excellence for skill development and artisan empowerment long after specific projects conclude.

Our Commitment

At JKVS, we believe that real change happens when communities are empowered with knowledge, skills, and opportunities. Every farmer we train, every woman we empower, every artisan we support, and every student we educate represents a step towards a stronger, more inclusive India. As we move forward, we remain committed to our founding principles — integrity, inclusivity, innovation, and impact — as we continue our journey of transforming lives and building a brighter future for rural India.
